DISCIPLINE vs STRESS- LESS CHILDHOOD part III

The ending part of the trilogy! You will find here all the answers for all the previous questions, and my subjective opinion, based only on what I read preparing this post and what I believe. Enjoy HOW DO WE KNOW WHAT THE EFFECTS WILL BE? There are as many options as there are opinions. As previously mentioned, styles of parenting can be divided into three groups, each with a different outcome and effect. While, doing the research for this project, I found an interesting article by Simon Sinek discussing Millennials – those born in the year 2000. Based on interviews which he conducted, it became apparent that there were significant changes in behaviour between children who were born at the millennium and children who were born a decade earlier.  It is worth comparing these differences in behaviour between children who were born at different times.. The Millenial children had ‘helicopter parents’ and were treated as fragile, kept in a protective bubble, leading as far ...

DISCIPLINE versus STRESS - LESS CHILDHOOD part II

BALANCED PARENTING    Dr Thomas Gordon says: ‘When parents once learn how to listen to children with empathy and understanding and resolve their conflicts peacefully, they stop using physical punishments’. Listening to children is so important. There is no doubt that children ask questions more often than we expect, and that they have their own opinions. It is important to pay attention to how, and in what way, they are expressing themselves. Parents who really listen to their children are better able to assess the emotional needs of their child. Excessive laughing or weeping, for example, may be the first indication that a child needs help. These kinds of behaviour should also be an important sign for parents and should lead to them asking more detailed questions to resolve any issue. It has been proved that trust is the most important value, in the relationship between parent and child. Guided by this precept, Dr Thomas Gordon also says that in order to achie...

DISCIPLINE versus STRESS-LESS CHILDHOOD  PARENTS ARGUE  OVER RAISING  CHILDREN Many pare nts believe that discipline when  raising children m ay not give the expected results, while others are of the opinion that a stress-less and over-protected  childhood may  lead  to  emotionally  disabled adults.  People often share their thoughts and ideas on how best to achieve happy childhood memories for their children. One person may think that more severe parenting needs to be taught ,  because children need to know  how to  behave in the proper way. Others may feel  that only by being  caring and friendly,  can  we  hand on the most important  values for life. In this piece of writing I will  discuss both  alternatives and  come up with conclusions based on research and specialis t  opinions. EMOTIONALLY  DISABLED  OR   AGRE S SIVE W...

They gave us life, let's give them our time whenever they need it! The idea for this article, came just after a discussion I was involved in. Briefly I will tell you this story. In this particular morning, I was a bit emotionally, sensitive since I woke up. The reason,n was probably because I remembered a situation I've experienced the last time I was in Poland. That night I've overheard a conversation between a grown up woman (age around 47) and her elderly mother. The mother was explaining to the daughter why it was necessary for her and her husband to take little mortgage. Simply, the elderly couple wanted to go on holiday but didn't have enough money to do so. The reaction of the daughter was unacceptable in my opinion. She said: ''Fine Mum! Take the mortgage! If you won't pay it back the bank will take away the house from you and you guys will end up in a care home.'' I remember that I couldn't believe in what I just heard. The po...

"Those who do not risk, do not drink champagne." This sentence has been with me for as long as I can remember, or at least since I found self-confidence as a woman, even as a human. Do you guys remember when your parents said to you: "High school/college is the most beautiful time of your life"? Well for me it was unforgettable, but I would be lying if I said that it was amazing...anyway. Nowadays, teenage girls are often very calculative. Don't you agree? Loads of make up covering their perfect skin, just because everybody else does the same. Even the way they talk about life is different than just a decade ago. I was a bit like that too, although never looking for attention. Things have changed since then, but I'll talk about it later. I think being calculative, in my experience, was more a pro than a con. From my youngest years I always loved taking the risk, and almost always I achieved my goal. Okay, so let's explain why I chose this subject ...
